Accommodation

The conference administration does not arrange accommodation. Delegates are asked to contact the venue of their choice to arrange their own accommodation. We have contacted the following venues, and shall be augmenting this information with conference deals and other locations as they become available.

All costs are quoted in Australian dollars. You can do currency conversion online at sites such as XE.com.
 

On-Campus Accommodation

The Women’s College, College Road, St Lucia Campus [map] The Women’s College is a 10–12 minute walk from the conference venue. Please direct all your enquiries and bookings directly to the House Manager at manager@womens.uq.edu.au or telephone (07) 3377 4500.

Two types of student rooms are available. These are study bedrooms, each containing a single bed, desk, study chair, etc. (see the website for further detail). Common kitchen and leisure rooms are provided:

1. Single rooms with shared bathroom facilities. 15 rooms per corridor, with a bathroom block of 3 toilets and 3 showers per corridor. Plenty of rooms available.
   Cost: $65 per day.
2. Larger single rooms with shared ensuite between two adjacent rooms. Approximately 10 available.
   Cost: $76 per day.

There is also a limited number of two-bedroom, air-conditioned apartments, at $99 single and $138 twin share. These are self-contained, and have their own cooking facilities. Availability can be confirmed in the month before the conference: please contact the House Manager, manager@womens.uq.edu.au or telephone (07) 3377 4500.

All rates include a hot buffet breakfast (7.00–9.00 am) and fresh towels daily. Other meals are available for $6.50. Full board is available. Accommodation should be paid before arrival, including a once-only booking fee of $15. As students return from vacation on Sunday 22 July, rooms will need to be vacated by 9.00 am on that day.

Off-Campus Accommodation

There is abundant off-campus accommodation. Here are three venues offering apartment accommodation:

Under $100

St Lucia Gardens, Gailey Road, St Lucia [map] – Older, small, self-contained apartment accommodation with separate bedroom, A/C, TV, kitchen, etc. (see the website for further details). 1 bedroom with Queen bed: $94 single. Under $140

Inn on the Park, 107/21 Patrick Lane, Toowong [map] – New, large, well located, self-contained apartment accommodation. Each A/C apartment contains a separate bedroom, full kitchen, laundry, lounge and eating area, furnished balcony. 1 bedroom with Queen bed $120, 2 bedroom with 1 x queen bed in each room or 1 queen + 2 x single beds, 2 bathrooms $150. Bus ( 412 or 411) and CityCat ferry (10 minutes by ferry to University Terminal). Restaurants within 400m walk, and 1km from the large Park Road café and restaurant precinct. Cosmo, 60 Park Road, Milton [map] - Studio, 1 and 2 bedroom apartments with queen beds, kitchens, laundry, TV, A/C located in the heart of a cafe/restaurant precinct. Brisbane CBD Accommodation

The St Lucia campus is located seven kilometres from the Brisbane CBD, to which it is connected by bus services and the fast CityCat ferry service.
