News8 February 2007 The online registration system and module for online submission of proposals for papers are both up and running now. There's also a lot of information about what's on in Brisbane around the time of the conference and symposium (more to appear soon). We now have a poster, which you can download here in PDF format. Conference Reading Group The School of English, Media Studies and Art History, which is hosting the conference and symposium, is holding a weekly reading group on Fridays at 2.30 pm in room 635 of the Michie Building on the UQ campus. Staff, students, and others with an interest in the conference are getting together informally to read a number of pieces by Hillis Miller, Derek Attridge and Jacques Derrida. There are no overheads in time here: we do all our reading on the day. If you're in the Brisbane area and would like to join us, you're very welcome. For further information, email Tony Thwaites or Jude Seaboyer. The pieces we read from week to week will all be made available in digital form through the UQ Library (for students and staff of UQ), and will be notified on and linked from this page.
Advanced Study Option EMSAH is involving its postgraduate and undergraduate students as much as possible in this conference. This semester we shall be offering a Conference Workshop as an Advanced Study Option, in which postgraduate students will be coached through the conference process, from submitting a proposal to writing and delivering the paper. We are also offering Conference Internships, in which administrative and organisational work done for the conference and symposium can be used as the basis for a project that can be credited as part of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree. Again, for details of these email Tony Thwaites or Jude Seaboyer.
