The Organising Committee strongly recommends that you stay in Ipswich for ease of access to conference sessions and events. If you are not staying locally allow at least one hour to commute from Brisbane.

Ipswich

Accommodation guides:

The Organising Committee & Friends Recommend:

  • Ipswich Heritage Motor Inn (itsheritage@gil.com.au) on Warwick Road, tel. +61 7 3202 3111
  • Ipswich Flag Inn lnn (website at http://www.ipswichflaginn.com.au/ email stay@ipswichflaginn.com.au )

Both of these hotels are 400 metres from the University campus. The Mary Ellen Motel is closer to the city centre (around 1 km from campus), and slightly more modestly priced. Tel +61 7 3281 2100, and details at http://brisbane.worldtourism.com.au/MaryEllenMotel/

Please book directly with the motel of your choice as we are unable to arrange your accommodation for you. We strongly recommend that you organise this as early as possible, as accommodation in Ipswich is strictly limited (the three motels listed above). Other accommodation is either B&B, or in Brisbane.

Brisbane

If you plan to stay in Brisbane and travel to the conference sessions by rail, it's a good idea to choose a hotel or motel close to the Ipswich train line.

The Organising Committee & Friends Recommend:

  • A good, cheap alternative for high quality accommodation in Brisbane is to book one of the major hotels through wotif.com but please note that this site operates on heavily discounted deals that are only listed one to two weeks in advance. Although there are usually several choices available, spaces fill up quickly at certain times of the year.
