FEMINISMS
An international Women's and Gender Studies Conference, the national conference
of the Australian Women's Studies Association, will be held from the afternoon
of Saturday 12 to the lunch time of Wednesday 16 July, 2003 at The University
of Queensland, St Lucia, Brisbane, Australia.
The main venue will be Women's College at The University of Queensland
and you can book accommodation
there or at the Stamford Plaza in the city, via this site. Information
about the University and can be found via the menu.
Abstracts have been received from attendees from Iran, Malaysia, India,
Nigeria, Bangladesh, Singapore, Hong Kong, United Kingdom, Ireland, USA,
New Zealand, Canada and all Australian states. Plenary speakers include
Ann Curthoys, Vijay Agnew, Raylene Ramsay, Elizabeth Wilson and Gabriele
Griffin amongst others.

The organisation of papers into the programme will be done by the end
of May.
Registration fees for the Conference (including morning and afternoon
tea, lunch, a reception, and possibly more) will be $300 for members and
$350 for non-members, students and unwaged $120 members and $150 non-members
(all including GST). Day attendance will be pro rata. The Conference dinner
and the bus tour of Radical Sites will be extra to be paid for at the
Conference. The Registration and payment form and joining AWSA forms are
now available on this site.
Membership rates to join AWSA for 2003 are as follows:
Waged: $40 (1 year) $60 (2 years) Unwaged (inc.Students): $20 (1 year)
$30 (2 years) Institutional: $160 (1 year; student organisations can negotiate
to join for less)
