'Transnational Networking: Toward Local Advocacy for Women Prisoners'
How can we network and share skills across national borders to advance grassroots support for women prisoners in Australia? This discussion will look at how we can take part in service work based on the needs of women in prison, while at the same time consistently pursuing an abolitionist vision.
Bio: Debbie Kilroy, BSW, LLB candidate, is Director of Sisters Inside, a community organisation that advocates for the human rights of women in the Criminal Justice System. Debbie continues to be a strong activist, both nationally and internationally, on issues relating to the abolition of prison.
Sisters Inside publishes a journal Women in Prison.
