Australian Studies

What is Australian Studies?

Australian Studies focuses on the interdisciplinary study of Australian culture, society, and history, and encompasses a wide range of disciplines from the Humanities and Social Sciences. Australia's social and cultural development are examined in areas such as art history, history, literature, drama, film, television, and media studies. Contemporary social debates are also considered with a focus on native title and reconciliation, and the republic.

The School also has close links with the Aboriginal and Torres Islander Studies Unit.
